I have been wanting to do some hard back aching fishing! And I was wondering if anyone has fished for the almighty Amberjack at the Cesapeake light tower yet? I have been itching to catch some nice big Amberjacks just for the fun of it! And if anyone has done so, what time did you fish for them. Tight lines to everyone.

I caught a "stray" right off of the Lynhaven channel. He was not a keeper. He did surprise me though... I have never caught one before and had to pull out my handy little regulation sheet to find out what he was. Probably won't help you much in your hunt though...considering he was a stray. Are they good to eat?

ummm...I have never eatin a amberjack before, because they say they have worms in them and I am kinda sketchy about that. But people I know said they have tried it, they smoked it and they said it was pretty good tasting. You just have to know how to clean/scrape the worms out. I might give it a try one day. I just like to catch and release for them. There is nothing better than hooking a couple of 40-50+ Aj's "FUN FUN FUN". My preference is, they fight better than some tuna. I LOVE IT!!! Anyways, thanks for the report bud.
