Just wondering if anyone has or knows someone w/ a Maycraft 2550 Pilothouse thats been through the prop testing fiasco. We are running a Yamaha F250 and it came w/a rapture 14.25x17(not factory) SS prop. Bought boat package from the A-### in Ashland- need I say more. Looking to go w/ a15.5x17 Yamaha SSII. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Wanted to add that the performance is horrid, 18mph @ 4500 ; 25mph @ 5500, its a slug!!!

I had similar problems with prop on a smaller MayCraft from the same people in Ashland. I can say once I got the right prop the performance was WAY better.

Joe,

That's strange, those same guys rigged my SeaHunt 207cc F150 yam with a 15.25x17 SS Apollo from Michigan Wheel. I questioned them on such a large prop and they said it's the size that they had the best performance out of. I agree, the numbers aren't bad, WOT RPM's is within range and top end is what factory says it should be. But I get an annoying vibration while in gear and idling, and a big clunk when shifting into gear. I think it because the prop is to large but no facts. There fore would like to try a smaller diameter prop.

I'm willing to let you try mine if you let me try yours. If anything, at least we would know what the numbers would be with the different prop size. PM me if you're interested.

take care,

Bobby
