Fished Wired Up today and went to the Canyon. Lines in at 8 and about half hour later...5 on and once!!! With 3 on the boat we took our time and boated all 5 yellowfin from 20-45 pounds!! Reset spread and kept working the same area. Had a triple header and then another single. Ended up with our 3 man limit of tuna and 2 dolphin to boot.
The best part of the day came when the right short goes screaming off...a small ballyhoo with red and white seawitch. I get the rod and it is feeling different...not a tuna, or dolphin. then I look up and there it is skying through the air...The Devil with a Blue Dress On!!! It screamed line for a while, greyhounded several times and then decided that he was done playing and threw the hook. Neal extimated the blue marlin to be in the 250-300 pound range. May be next time. With the small bait I guess elephants do eat peanuts!!
Will be out there tomorrow on Rockin Robin.
Fingers yielded some good bluefin...close to 100 pound range and some dolphin. Heard of a wahoo lost south of the Canyon.
Catch 'em Up!!

Biggest Blue One I've ever seen live was caught on the left short with a 12 pack hoo and a pink and blue witch. Estimated weight 700 lbs. On a Penn 50 narrow. When you least expect him, there he is. You'll get him next time Don. Pretty work with the tunas!

Don,
Nice pics...lots of blood. Finally got off the ship and headed out for my first Cobia trip tomorrow. Your lures are getting lots of good press. If I could coax my 20 ft boat offshore, I would buy a few.
