me and a bunch of my buds went down about a month and a half ago and didnt get into a whole lot. i was wondering if there has been any word on any fun fish being caught down in ocracoke lately?

Went out of Hatteras on Sat and got 37 dolphin 5 beeing gaffer and the rest bailers. They were everywere at one time we must of had 100 fish at the back of the boat. Also got a king and a shark

I fished the south end of the island yesterday, fished the slough near the inlet, plenty of taylor blues on out going tide. Lots of bait in the sound shallows just inside the inlet ....... water temp 79.

The 4th of July celebration was great down there! ...... saw some folks flying the Carolina Hurricane Stanley Cup Champ flags too !!!

have you heard anything about people catching any drum or flounder off the beach?

Didn't see any drum caught, the shoal was not accessible even at low tide and that's where IV seen them caught in the summer. The head boat Miss Ocracoke was drifting the inlet and picking up flounder and I saw a few small ones caught off the beach.

Check the Teach's Lair website, they usually have a surf fishing report. It's in Hatteras but I'm sure the surf fishing is the same in Ocachoke.

Sorry JRFskater, I didn't realize I was in the offshore forum, stupid me . Obviously I was surf fishing. I did see some boats return and they had mostly dolphin.

I fished out of Hatteras for years ..... but never Ocracoke. I checked the ramp out last week and it's really nice and the inlet looked great. Would love to run the inlet someday.
