Ok i got to the report first, WE SMOKED THEM IN NC TODAY !!! 20 minutes of trolling produce a 90 lb bigeye and a 96 lb bigeye !! THE 90 LB WAS CAUGHT ON A 20LB CLASS REEL WITH 30LB TEST!!!!! OTTER IS A MACHINE!!! thats all i can type now, my arms hurt way to much !


All fish were caught on get reel lures by don !!! Captn' fatbeard fishes nothing else !!

Ok now that i can type, A huge thank you to todd for taking us out today !!! He put us on the fish !!! Todd also managed a gaffer and bailer dolphin on the way back in, He's the man !!

Great job Jeff! 65lbs is the most weight ever landed on the Shore Thing. I can't even imagine.....

Here's the Deal !

0330 meet @ greenbrier mall parking lot and Jeff and I get in Todds truck. Underway from OI @ 0530. Ride out to the point...very fishy. 6 lines in spread by 0735. 0755.... 2 reels screaming off line and I grab the 20 class Shakespear that is pulling a Get Reel mini spreader bar, Jeff grabs the 6/0 Penn Senator with a Get Reel Conga Line. Here we go. The 20 class rod had 30 lb test and it was almost spooled when I finally start gaining some line back . 35 minutes later Todd pulls the 90 lb Bigeye over the side. Capt Fatbeard, still fighting his fish, sweating out a pool on the deck, gets it to the boat and Todd pulls the 96 lb'er in, 45 minute fight.

Both fish needed their own cooler and didn't fit into them. Iced 'em down and decided to pack up because we had no room for anymore tuna of any size. 0920 start heading in. 1100, 17 miles out spot a long wide weed line. 1 gaffer and 1 bailer.

In before noon.

Forecast wrong in the right direction. SW 10-15, Seas 2-3 going out. even better for the ride in.

I couldn't wait I landed back in Prince George about 9:30PM and cut me nice thick steak off of the loin, and warmed it up.

Those are some big fish on some small tackle. That reel on the right looks like an Ambassador reel from the pic.

Ok so here is the YIELD !!!!! Cut some steaks, made some sushi, cut tuna bites, cut scraps for ceviche' ( or keliguin if i can get the recipe ) and made a huge ass bowl of blackened tuna salad...... and i still have 4 center cut loins weighing about 7 lbs a piece. Tuna for a month !!!! yeaaaaa
