Dare Marina located in Dare off of the Chisman Creek has dry storage. I worked there driving the lift the past couple summers, let me know if you have any other questions and hopefully i can help you out.

I agree, Bell isle is a very well located marina in the bay, it is also very well kept up.

Sunset Marina in Hampton has indoor dry storage. Well managed and bait and tackle shop on premises. HRBT is just out of the creek, CBBT is about a 13 mile run.

I keep mine at Sunset. Pretty good tackle shop with live and frozen bait, security at night, gates locked at night. It costs me $175 a month to keep a 23' Mako there, which actually measures 25', so I have to pay for the 25'. One downside that I see about Sunset is that there last lift is at 5 PM even during the summer. Not sure when the first put in is but you can call the night before and have them put your boat in if you are leaving early. If you come in after 5 then sometimes it is hard to find a spot, and if you don't dock in the lift slips then they won't take your boat out of the water, even though they say they will, they used to, or at least that is just my experience.
I keep my boat at sunset too and agree that the hours suck. They are still closing at 4:30 despite being summer. I think they open at 8:30 am. during the summer when sunrise is 5:30 and sunset is 830, they should have better hours. Also agree with the limited number of wet slips. Other than that, close to fishing grounds and seem to take good care of my boat.

Hey NJ1, didn't they used to stay open later during the summer months a number of years ago? I have been going to Sunset for a long time now and could swear that they would stay open later during summer.
It just sucks that if you're fishing the afternoon tide, especially when you're far away, and you have to be rushed to get back to the dock if you want to take your boat out of the water especially when it stays light out till 8:30.

Yeah, it seems like they used to, but I can't remember for sure. They seem not to be able to hold on to people working there also--lots of new faces these days. Agree with you about afternoon trips--we went out yest. at 4 and got back at 8:30--no pull out until the morning.

I keep my boat at Bel Isle in Hampton (Factory Point). The service is very good and the price is reasonable.
