I have caught some sheepshead but only as a bycatch. I have never targeted them. Any advice would be great.

Use fiddler crabs, hermit crabs, green crabs, mole crabs, or just about any kind of crabs you can catch, put 'em on a bottom rig with a #3, 4 or 5 hook, use a wreck anchor over the tube, close but not too close to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th island of the CBBT; 10 to 20 ft of water is good. Use enough weight to get in the rocks. The swifter the current, the deeper the water, the more weight and versa vice. Good luck. Oh, by the way, fishing4.gif I caught a 10 pounder 50 ft off of the 1st island today on a fiddler. fishing4.gif

Sheepies love to hang out around the CBBT pilings, use bait as above mentioned, even minnows. Tie off to a piling (I didn't say to that!!), drop your line down directly adjacent to the piling, if you do not catch any fish within 5-10 minutes move 3-4 pilings down the span and try it again. Also, fish slack tide.
