Roger that Eric/Charlie.
For you Military guys/gals...something happened this weekend offshore that I've never witnessed before. We were trolling SE of the Weather Bouy and there was a Navy warship offshore of us tracking towards us. They hailed us on the radio and asked our course and speed, verrified it and then said they were changing course as to not interfere with our activities. Thought that was pretty cool!!

The Navy changes officers around every 3 years. So everything changes every 3 years.
What a dumb, dumb, dumb way to run an organization, especially one that claims to honor traditions.
Yeah Ive watched videos on the Navy's online training sites the 5 different sites that they use. Everything from not enslaving people to not taking home every serial number for everyone who has ever been in the military.
What a knee jerk operation.

Wasn't me on the bridge. I'm suprised they actually got ahold of you on something other than BTB 16. Usually, they call only on 16 and wonder why fishing boats won't answer. I have most on this ship clued into what channels to check (68, 71, 72, etc.).

Actually the Local navy Ships have been using 79, 68 and 16 lately when doing live fires and such. Saw my old ship (USS Laboon DDG 58, Plankowner) out there a while back doing live fires...they were giving Backlash orders to CLEAR the area...he did !!!>..lol
Don...sometimes the ships do Hailing exercises just to give some of the Junior folks radio time. It's no more than a training event, maybe even getting some JQR/PQS signed off....Bob

I remember TQM and the the fact they would send me to TQM training and I still do not know what they were trying to get me to do. Luckily the dumped TQM before I really had to gun deck the training.
