I left a party in suffolk around 1:45am, met jason (JFRYE) at my house at 3am, headed down to lynnhaven inlet to find bait. caught a few small spot and one minhaden. Jason's dad met us down there around 5:30am with his boat. we watched the sun rise as we headed out to the third island. we got set up and drifted parallel with the tunnel (bay side) from the island toward the channel. first fish was jasons bro, he caught a nice sized croaker off a gundgeon (yeah i know i can't spell). i wasn't aware that croaker eat minnows?? anyway first i baited up with a spot, caught a rock and lost the rig. re-rigged up and grabbed the only menhaden we had and put him on the hook, back in the water and ten minutes later WHAM! what i thought was another snag, then i felt the thump thump and set the hook. my biggest flounder so far, 24.5 inches, right about 6lbs. we ended up catching another croaker and a roundhead. that was it. about 9am we headed in.

definently a good day. just wish we had caught more menhaden. not sure if anyone will recognise the rod/reel im using...i think its older then me. i got it from my grandfather many years ago....i dont really have a good boat rod so i broke it out of my closet and wiped the dust of it. good to know it still works
anyway im running off a 2 hour nap...im done.
