Maybe a dumb question where in the heck do you catch these small croaker for bait to flounder fish. always used white squid or cut croaker strips. I never catch 4-5 in. croaker. Also what does a night of fishing on the bay produce this time of year??? Your help is appreciated. Only night fishing I've done around here is striper...Thanks.....

I always catch mine at the Jetties (300-500 yds off) outside Little Creek and the Yellow buoy off Ociena View. I use basic double drop bottom rig with a really small piece of bloodworm fishbite or squid. Between my son and I we usually catch 15-20 (5-9 inch) fish in 15-30 min. Hope that helps.

Sabiki rigs tipped with bloodworms or tiny hooks around jetties or docks in inlets may get you the even smaller ones.

night fishing - red/black drum, cobia, trout and flounder in certain areas (and of course bluefish, striper, spot and croakers)
