Just curious to see some of the various opinions on how to create the most effective chum line. Where can you get fresh chum? Bag, dip, grind, or bucket? Top, bottom or both? I've seen and heard so many thing over the years, just curious what works best for you guys.

Dripper seems effective at attracting small birds. Chum on top seems effective at attracting minnows and houndfish. Chum on bottom seems effective at attracting cownosed rays. I have caught more cobia without chum than I have with it and have only once seen a cobia swim into chumline on surface. I am not really sure how much chum helps but I think bag near the bottom weighted down with a weight is most effective. Don’t put it down on the anchor line. Lower it to bottom and then raise it up a couple feet to allow the rocking of the boat shake it periodically. Your baits will be right behind the chum.
