I have not met most of you yet, but through don have heard alot about you guys. This is obviously tentative because of weather but I am off the first week of august and am either going to be fishing out of va beach or taking my boat to oregon inlet, based on marlin activity, to fish as much of the week as possible. Since this is during the work week, I am trying to find some people who would be able to take off a day or two and join my crew. I am still waiting to hear from don his schedule, but if any of you have any interest please let me know. It is early but just wanted to throw it out there. We would basically split costs.

That's quite a rig you've got there.....very nice Custom boat....maybe I'll take a couple of days off and check it out if you don't fill up real quick....I'm sure you'll get plenty of takers for some offshore action !.......Bob

I appreciate the responses guys. I will take down any of your numbers and emails whose interested and get in touch as we get closer to the week. I just booked a slip at pirates cove for the week in case it is good down there. Glad I did because they are filling up since that is close to their tournament. Should be a good time of year there and hopefully here too.

It'll be difficult as I just came off a 12 day leave, but I might be able to sneak out for a day or two as well. Name's Tom and my number is 757-373-4274.

I am a little green on offshore rigging and spreads, so I will understand if you need more experieced guys. I do know inshore trolling well, but have been offshore less than ten times. I am reliable, sober, and a good hand at keeping things organized under the mate. I will be down there for a good portion of that week staying in KDH., but will be wherever the boat is on time with whatever may be needed, money for gas Etc. I just got back from getting skunked on blues in St. Thomas under the new moon.

Don,
I'll get you some info from Doc who usually runs his boat out of Red Hook down there. His new boat is just being outfitted, so we postponed our August trip this year.

The season was a little slow in June. no one out of Americian yacht harbour (Only the marlin Prince and several privates, in June) had seen any blues in four days. The flyers were a little late showing up this year. I'll never take that chance again party-smiley-028.gif

That shouldnt have any bearing at all for October fishing. We took our chances going in June under a new moon. It was a major scheduling problem for us to go in July. You should still have 4-8 blues in october. (we hopped over from St. croix to Fly fish Tarpon in the mangroves and do the north drop, so we were juggling time.)

Went out with Eddie Morrison, Marlin Prince. Can't say enough good things about Eddie and his mate.

Edit: I just got a message from someone at AYH who said the July open had 42 or so releases with 25 boats over three days under the July Moon. Not the best numbers. It has really picked up since then, though, with boats averaging 1-3 per trip, which is more normal for July. I didnt mean to get you wondering about the season. Good luck.
