The marlin bite has been hot down there recently so we decided to marlin fish. Nice calm day, headed out to the 000's and put out in about 100 fathoms. Heard of a bite that was farther north so we started trolling that way. Pulled off a sail on our way to the backside of the Rockpile on pinky with a horse ballyhoo. Got up to the backside of the rockpile and missed a blue one, not very big about 150 lbs. Fishing was slow the rest of the day, only had a few dolphin bites, little bailers. Went O-for on the marlins and caught a hand full of dolphins.
All of the OI boats are still making the run down to Hatteras to marlin fish, one boat out of OI had a grand slam on Sunday. Only about 8-10 flags flying out of Hatteras on Sunday, OI had a few more. Mainly sails caught out of Hatteras on Sunday.
