The family and friends will gather at H.D.Oliver Funeral Home at Hilltop in Va.Beach on Thursday night at 7:00 pm. This is appropriate,as Thursday was Dr Wright's fishing day with friends and he looked forward to it, planning in advance with me weeks ahead. The funeral itself will be at London Bridge Baptist Church on Friday at 10:00 am. Internment will take place at the Great Neck cemetary between Old Donation Rd and First Colonial Rd off of Great Neck Rd.

I knew the good doctor in peace and in pain,goodtimes and very bad ones,for many years now. I think his memory will be honored by all his friends that continue to hold up high standards of ethical fishing and sportsmanship, and at the same time be passionate about the sport and life-style, until we,too,are over 70 years old, and pass on our rods to the next generation.

My condolences to you too, Adder. I can tell from your many posts that you and Dr. Wright were very close. Losing a friend can be as devistating as losing a relative. They all fall under the umbrella of "loved one". I will miss his big smile and wave when we would pass on the water. I still hope I will see the "big red boat" pounding the surf. By the way, I hope Lee Tolliver or someone will submit a tribute article in the VA Pilot. Fishing is a sport and Dr. Jim was the Ricky Rudd or Bruce Smith of his sport.

It was a beautiful service today. I really enjoyed the video remembering his life. I am not an emotional person but seeing the pictures with his children, grandchildren and possibly other children having fun on the boat and in life kinda got to me.
