Where have all the tuna gone??



I recall a time when a fisherperson could catch a tuna or two around here......

Waters too hot! Spring and Fall is tuna time.

The tuna are there; I saw a small school of large tuna on saturday feeding on something (couldn't tell exactly what) but they were lit up like mad but they didn't like what I was pulling - probably because the stuff they were on was much better. I ve seen it a lot of that in hatteras in the summer but it wasn't the size class of fish we saw on sat.
BTW we found them by seeing birds on the radar and when we headed over there you could see the tuna tearing the water up. There were slicks all over where i was so they are definately there; sure wish i had a kite and some yummees!

they will be back ... not to worry. some good ne blows as fall starts to show up will stir thing up a bit. for now jump after the billfish wahoos and dolphin. the bite will only heat up from here.

If you dont have a Kite or if the Kite isnt working,try an unweighted 3''Drone off the High Rigger clip troll the spoon as close to the school and jerk the spoon so it flys and skips.Also dangle some squid Teasers from the other side with a splitbill behind it.
