New to the site. My boat is down for a hyd trim line, and looking for a ride this weekend some time. Open all day Friday. Anyone need an extra hand. I am new to the inshore/offshore fishing game and loving every minute on the water. Need some guideance on tackle and location befor i can really give it a go on my own. So if anyone is willing to help i will bring the beer

and pitch in for gas.

Welcome to the board!! The first part of this weekend looks questionable due to Mr Ernesto. As far as locations, right now the Cigar has been the biggest producer with billfish, dolphin and wahoo. Is about 65 miles SE of Rudee. There is a Lump before the Cigar, 10 Fathom Lump/Hill, that can produce fish as well. Norfolk Canyon has been holding some false albacore and some dolphin. Closer inshore are Wayne's World and the Fingers, both normally good spots for all offshore meatfish. Even closer is the Hot Dog and the Lumps/Horseshoe Lumps...early and late season tuna holes.
Tackle...you can go on and on about that. Everything from big spreader bars, Mini Bars, seawitches over ballyhoo, Shooters or any chugger style lure, cedar plugs, green machines or naked ballyhoo...they all work. Just try some different things and see what works for you. Tip is to have a varriety of tackle so you can change out your spread to see what the fish are after...what works one day may not the next...you've got to be ready for anything.
Good luck!!

Thank you for the info. Sorry it took so long to respond. I have a 18ft boat so the long distance offshore will be in out of the question for right now. If you know of anyone going out in the next week i would love to tag along. Thanks again.
