My son and I headed out Saturday afternoon in search of our first Specks of the year. Launched at Locks Pointe and worked the river all the way to the Hot Ditch with no luck. Saw lots of small specks breaking but we didnt have what they were eating. Talked to a couple of guys who had caught a few up to 20" on plastics and one guy who was trolling for specks on a kayak that had some good luck. Thinking about trying them again this week in the afternoon after my 8yo son gets home from school. He's dying to add a speck or a puppy to his jr. angler card. Any help putting him on the fish would be much appreciated. Tight lines!

Trout and specks hang out in the moutj's of the creeks there in the river. There is a good one right by the the steel bridge, And on epast the high rise. Top water plugs and finesse tails work the best. A gudgeon free hooked drives the puppy drum crazy ! Good Luck
