sport-smiley-027.gif afternoon anglers, late post from overnighter saterday. went out of willoughby around noon and fished for flounder and blues. throw back four small flounder 10-14" and no blues. have been using cut bluefish for flounder bait successfully this summer on homemade riggs. my older brother hails me on the radio for late night run to the nine foot shoals for some shark fishing. 5-10 knot winds with 1-2' seas turned out to be 15-20 plus and 3-5' seas. thought it was going south when he lost two anchors in 30 minutes. lashed the boats together and did pull in six small sharks. then left shoals at around 3:30am and hit a couple of the islands on the way back in a couple of small striper and blue fish. at the third island i did note some very large fish on the fish finder right on the bottom but no takers. and by large i mean very and by some i mean many (signal on the screen was the largest icon it has /and saw at least 50 or more within 20 minutes) made it back to willoughby around 5:30am wet and worn out. maybe well have better luck next time. p.s. thanks to everyone who helped me with posting pictures you guys rock yourock.gif thanks and tight lines

Good report Vince. Those big fish on the bottom could have been red drum.
