Headed out for the first time this fall season for some night fishing at HRBT. We left sunset marina at around 5 and anchored up on the bayside of the HRBT (Norfolk end) in about 18 ft. Caught 2 right away, one keeper, on throwback on a Yozuri crystal minnow with slow retrieve. It died after that. When the tide shifter, we moved to the river side in shallower water (6-8 ft) and fish began busting all around us. Started catching every other cast. Color of the night was white or pearl. All stripers--no blues, puppies or trout for us. Kept four of the biggest fish and headed home around 10:00 on slick calm water. Short run, so opened her up to 30 knots for a short stretch that I know well (don't rec. speed like that at night on a regular basis). Anyway, we had a blast and look forward to gettin out there again soon.

We went out Wed. nite too. Got there around 9PM (after the bite slowed) but still managed a few fish and 2 trout over 19". It was slick as glass and then wind picked up to 10-12 knots around 11:00PM. Headed home and cleaned up.
Planned on going thurs. but work schedule didn't permit...
Glad ya got there at a good time.
