As an avid fisherman, I've grown up in VB and since been bouced around the world. Navy, need I say more. I'm now being tranfered back to VB and have the means to buy a boat, and get into the "fray". I know the waters and am looking to get some good input on good winter fishing. Stripers are on point, buck-tails, casting into the shadows and dragging towards the light, bouncing the bottom w/ bucktails as well as dragging the odd "hopkin's lure" by the 3rd island. What is the key to heavier fish when I'm out in my 18 foot skiff on a glass night. (sorry, that's all I can afford on a military salary). I'm serious about fishing, but don't want to limit my opportunities to stripers, maybe black drum?? How about the flat-fish, would dragging a double buck-tail with a strip of mullet along the shoals be the best, as it was when I left? All I'm looking for is good input, as a dedicated fisherman I thought this message board would give me the info, because all you guys seem to be pretty honest.
