Never been fishing in the area before. I am taking myself and a buddy this Thursday to your lovely water hole. My plans are to put in somewhere at Lynnhaven because it is close to the CBBT. Any advice on where to go and what to use for some action. Not really interested in the big haul just lots of fun and a few good fish that make it a better day than going to work.

you can load up with schoolies at the small boat channel just before the 1st island or you can some better fish if you tie up just before the third island use the 6" storm lures they work great, hope this helps good luck costumed-smiley-089.gif

Since I am new here and I am trying to paint a pic in my head when everyone referres to the small boat channel are they referring to the channel comming out of lynnhaven inlet on the bay side of the bridge.

Hoverpilot,

The Small Boat channel is actually a marked channel on the CBBT itself. Its roughly half way between the start of the bridge and the 1st island. You'll see the red and green channel markers on the bridge.
EARLYTIMES
You can also fish for Tautogs in and around the CBBT islands using fiddler crabs, blue crabs or clam necks. Caught a few Sat am at the 2nd.
