I've been hitting the HRBT the last couple of weekends for stripers. Last weekend was pretty good as far as the bite goes. Been having about the same luck as alot of the previous posts(40-50 fish with only a couple of keepers) My question is the lure/bait to use for the larger ones. I have been using storm lures and gotcha plugs with good luck. Do these lures typically target the smaller fish and I should be using some larger lures, or have the "big ones" yet to arrive? Thanks for any info. By the way, Also got a few puppy drum on these lures. This is the first year that I have caught these while fishing for striper so that was a nice surprise.

did you catch theese during the day or at night and where at. but the gotcha plugs and storms are great baits for any size fish

There's the old rule, "bigger bait, bigger fish" which does apply most of the time, only to be countered by..."Elephants eat peanuts".

Try using some larger size storms. Also let your bait sink down a little more as the larger fish may tend to hold towards the bottom. Cast more towards the pilings/structure and not just the lightline. Its getting close to, if not already, time to start dropping eels/live bait down alongside the pilings.

There are some bigger fish there and more to arrive!
