I'm looking to go offshore this weekend, probably on Sunday, to go do some trolling. I'm looking for someone who knows where to go and I am completely new to this area. If we need to head down south to get at the fish, I am willing to head that way. Pretty much, you'll decide where we go.
I have a 23' Key West with a single Johnson 225 4S. It is a cuddy cabin style with no hardtop or outriggers (yet!). I usually fish an 8 rod spread due to not having a hardtop/outriggers.
If you're experienced and need a ride out, drop me a line.

How do you fish 8 rods with no outriggers?
I mate on a 60' Hatteras and pull 7-8 lines and 4 teasers at the most when fishing for billfish. Anything else I will pull 8 lines with 2 teasers.

It isn't easy by any means! Two in the wash, two at the end of the wash, two just a little longer, and two down the middle from the rocket launcher (one at about 40-60yds and the other a little longer). If it's too rough or teasers out I'll drop down to five rods however. Also can't do very sharp turns or you'll be twisted with other lines.

I think the bite has been off of OI around the 750-800 line

Tcroak,
I recommend attending the meet and greet tonight at the Lucky oyster in va beach @ 7PM. You will meet a lot of people which will be happy to give you directions or partner up with you on a trip.... I am new to the Offshore scene but a few of the guys on this site have taught me a lot in just a few trips out. I am looking to hitch a ride this weekend but I need two seats (Brother in-law in town never been offshore). Show up at the Meet and Greet...it's a great time. Good luck...
