Fished the HRBT Sat night during outgoing tide. Only 9 fish caught. I didn't cacth any, Jackie got the limit for the boat. 22-25+ inces were the keepers.

Sunday morning headed out the Thimble shoals for Wire lining. Saw birds, marked fish and trolled around them with a couple other boats. nothing. Moved to the 2nd Island and trolled the span down to the 3rd. Nothing. Got between the spans and finally got our limit in about 2 passes at the curve. All fish hit white bucktails with white twister tails in 45 feet of water. Even got a double hookup. Nothing to big. 22-23 inches.

First time wire lining for me. I think I'm going to like it. Sure does keep the bait on the bottom.

If you are gonna wire line alot, you likely will want to get you a 12 oz lead mold,as you is gonna lose some stuff. When fishing with Dr Wright on the old "Therapy", we went through hundreds of dollars in sinkers per season. That's cause we would take novices, plus fish the mean spots, and you is gonna lose some stuff, but STICK WITH IT! It will give ya fish to throw on the dock when everybody around you is skunked! cool.gif

I always use 20 oz sinkers. That will generally keep you on the bottom, with the least amount of line out. The more line you have out, the more likely you are to hang up. Princess Anne Distributing on 17th street sells sinkers in bulk at a discount.
