Have the migratory fish from up north showed up off the beach at Sandbridge or False Cape?

Don't know about those places, but they are at Cape Henry. I'm sure they are there also. They've been catching them at OI and even HI already.

caught a few off of sandbridge ... nothing to really brag about.

I know the last 2 years at Cape Henry has been terrible. Hope this year is better

I saw a few boats working off Cape Henry on Thursday as I cruised to the 3rd island from Rudee. Are there any size to these fish you are reporting? I did here there were some big blues being caught off the beach.

This is just from reading other reports, I haven't actually fished there yet. The fish that they have caught there have been above the slot.

I fished Cape Henry and the Green Can area Saturday in the FM99 tournament and saw no sign of life - birds or fish.

It should turn on anytime now. They were late last year but eventually got here.

Shouldn't this week's cold weather help out?? Here is how I understand it...The cold weather to the north will eventually drive temps in the water to the north down cause the fish to head South into our waiting fisboxes.

There were some fish caught off of Sandbridge last weekend, 34-36"...nothing hot and heavy yet. This cold weather will get them moving!!

Well I guess we will just have to keep trying until they show. I haven't seen anything to indicate that they are off the eastern shore just north of us either. ...I guess it won't be considered bad form to report inshore ocean striper reports on the offshore board....right??

EARLYTIMES
The OI fishing report for 12-05-06 has already posted the first boat back to the dock (12:05 when I saw it). Fairly nice size stripers. Fish must in the ocean, though maybe migrating outside 3 miles like they generally do.

Mark,

Nobody will get after you but the offshore section is for reports from the Ches. Light Tower and beyond. Any ocean stripers will be (legally) caught well inside that since 3 nm out is max for a legal fish. costumed-smiley-089.gif

Talked to the guys on the Harpoon this afternoon at Fiisherman's Wharf. They had two 20 lb stripers and lost two more at the boat off of Dam Neck. He also said swarms of big blues keep hitting the baits or he could have had some more.

Sounds like Fly Rod Material.Blues are hard to beat on the FLY.

Got a call from a buddy who went tuna fishing last week out of Oregon Inlet. Said he ran by a big school of stripers southeast of OI and about 9 miles off the beach. One of his transmissions started acting up so he never made it to the tunas, but he said the stripers were good size and right on top.
