I am thinking about fishing down at HBBT this weekend. Whats working the best right now. I was thinking about casting storms on the rocks, but if people are catching them trolling I would like to give that a try. What do they seem to be biting the best. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

My last couple of trips the the HRBT have produced a lot of weeds and fewer fish. Casting under the bridge has worked well for us. A freind has done equaly well trolling with storms and windcheaters. all schoolies, but some in the 25-27 range. Lots of fun on light tackle.

The last couple of times I was out at the HRBT, I found the stripers feeding on small glass minnows or silversides (about 3-4" in length, silver color). Try to match your bait size to this and your strike count will increase. The other night when I was out, my one friend was using a 6" storm and got no action while I was catching alot on the smaller storms (3"?) same color. Small mirrolures were also producing aot of fish. Also we pretty much caught them nonstop on the flyrod. Mostly small schoolies, maybe 18", but had a few at 20-22". Can't say for sure on the sizes as we threw them all back. Oh and don't be afraid to move. We anchored first and caught sporadic fish. We then pulled anchor and starting drifting the pilings and found some spots that had nonstop action.

A friend and I went out on Wednesday night....we dropped eels down and have great success..caught several 28+", while we were anchored, we also threw out a couple stretch 25's and let the current d the rest of the work, caught abot 4 that were 20-25" with that method, while the lines were out with eels and stretchs, we tossed 6" shads at the pilings and did very well that way.
Hope this helps.
