Left Lynnhaven around 7:30am and planned to run up to the bayside of eastern shore around Cape Charles. On our way out we noticed a charter running to the ocean side of eastern shore and decided to "investigate"....
It paid off big time with fish and birds like I haven't seen in years. Got our limit early but stayed on the fish all day releasing several big stipers and some big bluefish too. We caught most on the troll but a few jigging (my fav.) as well. Great day!

Sounds like a lot you guys got em too. NICE!!
On the way back, we came across a vessel in distress drifting with no power out Crab Creek (in the shallow channel area too). We tossed them a line and towed them back in - they got the engine started later. It was nice to NOT be one with boat trouble for once!

Glad those guys got it started.
Similar to our day. We also were able to break out the light tackle and managed 4 fish (3 stripers, 1 bluefish) which were all in the 30-36" range and another 9 fish trolling. Good day for only fishing a few hours. I hope to make it out again on Thursday.
I know what you mean about helping out. What goes around comes around. I remember helping someone out last year that had run out of gas right outside Lynnhaven Inlet. I gave him 2 gallons of gas that I had in a portable container. This year I ran into a fuel restriction problem outside of Willoughby and someone was nice enough to tow me to the ramp. The majority of boaters are great people which won't hesitate to help you out. Tight Lines.
