Yea, I saw the video yesterday that was pretty f#@$%n awesome. Just swimming near something that big would scare the mess out of me!

I've got mixed emotions on this one. First, he speared the fish but didn't fight it. You can see the bouy attached to the line take off after he spears the fish. Second, I'm not one to kill any billfish, even a record one. Maybe in a tournament, but that's about it. On the other hand, that's one hell of a big fish to be swimming around with, let alone to spear. I just hope that type of fishing doesn't catch on.

I agree- mixed emotions. Good for one person terrible if many shoot and kill - so does he deserve that right and you dont? put that gun in my hands and that same situation - i probably wouldnt shoot but i would have some great video.

It looks to me like MACHO MAN got his thrill. What's the point.

Personally, I don't think it was much of an achievement because he didn't even fight the fish. Now if he speared and then fought it using a handline attached like the old man and the sea, I would be impressed.
