Yes it was one of ours. Justin Wilson and crew left Thursday afternoon and returned this morning. They did very well. Caught 5 and kept 1. The one weighed in was 125lbs. Very nice fish. Crew included Jamal Esfahani, David Thompson, Steve Wray and Daniel LeGrande.

Well I just woke up after an awsome night. Here is a brief summary of the events. We head out yesterday to the Cigar. After finding our spot we set up as the sun was going down. It was the calmest I have ever seen. We hardly had a breath of wind all night. I was comfortable fishing in a fleece jacket. Never thought I would see that at the end of December. Around 9pm the first line goes down, Jamal lands and releases his first sword. Two minutes later the rod closest to the boat got bit. As Justin reels up the bait, a sword followed it to the boat. Dave pitched a butterfish and scored. We have our second sword in the boat. Then we look down in the light and here was another one swimming by the boat. After offering him several baits, steve hooks up and land our thrid sword. At this point we are all extremly excited. We decided to pull up and check all the baits. Justin starting cranking on the first line and bam, fourth fish on! After a short battle we now have four fish, and it is just after nine. I didnt get a fish at that point, but the night was young. The night went on with a few more mystery bites. Then around 3am, the bobber goes down. This time i get the rod and cranked the leader right to the boat. Well when he found out he was hooked, the 40 minute battle began. We had the leader close tot he boat probably 8 times, and he jst kept sounding. Finally, we get him to the leader. Justin leadered the fish to the awaiting flying gaffman (Steve). The gaff was sunk and we were close to landing our first big sword. We quickly got him back to the boat and put a couple more gaffs in him. This was tough with a 4ft sword thrashing through the water. I think these are the craziest fish to handle. Not only is their bill longer and sharper then a marlin, they have a serious attitude. If you go please keep that in mind. Make sure you have a very skilled crew. Here is a pic of the big one. There are some better pics with the crew, hopefully some will get posted. Merry Christmas
Daniel

Super work! Maybe too soon to swap to the leaning post from the fighting chair.
Tight lines.
