Fished hard for three days and ended up with only 1 YFT 35 lbs, 1 Mahi about 7lbs,1 hoo about 25lbs and had a field day with the k Macs on Friday only kept three to smoke. Did have a big hit on a squid bird combo 200 lb braid melted away on an Avet 50 2 speed like it was a zebco 202 i am pretty sure it was a big hammerhead it went straight down quick fast and in a hurry we lost it immediately after the initial run a perfect clean cut of 200lb momoi on the hook bait. All the local Capts were blaming the poor fishing on the current which was screamin the whole time we were their. I was just happy to be out their the weather was fantastic for this time of year. On a bad note we had an icey tek 95 qt cooler stolen out of the back of our truck Thursday night at our hotel the only cooler stolen out of three icey teks and it had our tuna loins and beer in it. Go figure! Happy New Year to everyone. I am taking a break from fishing to do some much needed service and minor repairs to the Regulator.

Sounds like a great trip, except for the stolen cooler part. Thanks for the report...can't wait to get down there this spring!!
