Just got in. Fished the High Rise. Between 3 of us we caught 10 - 40 inch plus fish. 6 of the 10 were citation size. It was great out there tonight ! Of course all fish were released. Gil

Was that with eels?

nice, what was the current when the bite was on?
PRO-LINE GIL
Most were caught with eels. One was caught on a 10 in. bunker that we snagged. One was on a fake 9in. storm castig towards the light line. There was not much current, it was slightly incoming. We would just pull up to a pylon and each of us would drop our eels. One of us would hook up and the rest of us would clear our lines and we would drift slowly away from the bridge. Some of these fish took 20 minutes to battle to the boat. The citation fish were 44.5(2), 45, 46.5and 48inches. This was the first time that I tried this type of eel fishing. I just did what others on this site said to do. This site is an awsome resource. vbsf_th.jpg

Nice Gil,

Talked with you at the dock as we were heading out of sunset center n the regulator "wharf rat"

We cruised around the 1st and 2nd island early to try for some specs that were supposedly around, picked up schoolies up to 30" there on a swift outgoing tide. Then headed off smith island looking to put some meat in the boat, very dark starry night out there with lots of dog sharks no stripers...just a capt. chumming in the washing machine... vomit-smiley-010.gif after several hours called no joy headed. towards the 4th. spent the next 2 hours trolling between the bridges picking up 3 - 41, 40, 39. Played with schoolies casting at them in the shadow lines, all nice healthy fish in the upper 20's! Fun.

After that and trying to get off the radio with the guy playing the music all night, headed back around 12:30, beautiful night. Not many like that in January!

Cheers,
Greg

Greg,
You must have been talking to Jodi, I was on the other Pro-Line. We went out there together. Both boats had multiple citation fish. It was a banner night.

We are both at Sunset. My boat is in building #2. It is a 21 ft. CC that says" No Cents" on the sides in orange lettering. His boat is in bldg. #3.
We will see you at the marina.

Only 3 boats that night. It was windy that day and we almost did not go. The winds laid down that night and it was perfect. I think that the winds that day kept everyone at home. I have never seen so many menhaden in one location. At times half of my screen on my fish finder would turn dark due to the bait markings.
