My uncle flew in from Indiana for some striper fishing on Thursday and Friday. We went on the Chesapeake Angler Magazine boat with Capt Max King. Max had gone on Wed and said that he absolutely slayed them. He said that he didnt know if we could top that day. Max had his brother in law and his friend onboard as well as my uncle, the plan was to let them catch all of the fish. Well first lines in at the concrete ships at about 8:00am and within seconds first fish on. After the first fish it just got insane there were four and five lines going down at a time with all fish averaging 25lbs or more. As soon as I would net a fish the same person that caught that one got another rod with a fish on. I couldnt keep up with all of the lines or the fish for that matter. At 1:00pm we lost count at 35 fish, that was when the real fun started. Fish after fish after fish, I had to even reel in one because there was no one to give the rod to. That is when we picked up the biggest fish of the day one went 47lbs and one was 44lbs. All the rest of the fish were in the 20lb and the 30lb range. Only two citations that day (releases). I know that we caught over 50 fish.

Friday we were thinking that there was no way we would have more fun, but we were wrong. Went to the ships again and it was a little slower, only like 3 or 4 fish on at a time. Finally Max handed the rod to my uncle with a nice fish on and I hoped that it was the citation that I wanted him to get. Well it ended up that it was, after a 15 minute fight 46lbs (approx) and 47in long. I dont think that he will ever forget that moment. Nothing like going from a 6lb striper to a 46lb striper!! Action slowed a little more throughout the day but all of the fish that we caught were a better class fish than the day before. Plenty of fish in the 30lb range. Later in the afternoon we moved to the 4A and there was a ridiculous bite, at one time everyone but two of us had a rod with a fish on. I had just casted out a rod and turned my back only to hear the drag start screaming and I looked around and there was no one to hand it to, so I said this one is my one fish today. Well it turned out to be the right one, 43lbs 12oz. 47in. We caught approx 50 fish this day too and 8 were citations. It took me a while to finally post this report because my hands were so messed up from all of the fish. Here a couple of the pics. I am the one in the night pic and my uncle is the other.

Are the concrete ships right off Kiptopeke State Park and about how deep was the water where most of the fish were holding?

Congratulations on a great time. Awesome fish!!

We were catching fish anywhere from 20ft-70ft. To tell you the truth, I am not sure what depth was the most productive. I couldnt even keep track of how many lines were out and how many had fish on, let alone have time to look at the depth recorder.

congrats .. now just move some of those fish to the ocean for me on friday and i might have a chance of not just wasting $500
