Well, ventured out of Bubba's marina and had lines in at Cape Henry by 8:15am...not much was going on, small fish here and there. So we decided to just troll up to the Ramada since we heard of a few reports down there. We trolled around for a bit, and dad and I saw fish boiling, (the birds havn't gone off yet) and its us and only one other boat around, so my adrenalin kicks in and I bust out the light tackle, I threw out my bucktail and in seconds WHACK, HOOKED UP!!! Caught 3 and missed one, they were all 26-27 FAT throwbacks, but very fun! Then we hung around that area for awhile and then we started getting double hook-ups, (Chartruse daisy and chartruse umbrella rig) by this time its 12:00 and there is no keepers yet, all fat 27'' fish.
So we decided to troll back up to Cape Henry where it was a zoo, we didn't really want to go through the crazed pile of boats, but we tried it anyway! There were some nice fish being pulled in right off the Cape Henry light house. Tons and tons of bait and then we finally had a knockdown on the umbrella, its pulling drag and I could tell it had some weight, surfaced once and getting close to the boat I saw it surface one more time for a good look and she said bye and got off :angry2: That fish without a doubt was a 40'' fish! But its ok, time to get back in the game. Here come the boiling fish again, everyone is running around us trying to get to the fish but we managed just fine.
So I through out and boom, hit, then WHACK, FISH ON, boated a nice 28. Then through out again, WHACK, got em near the boat and it pulled, it bent my hook  But then after fixing that problem, I through out again and FISH ON, its taking drag, taking drag, and its a nice 30''rock! I had caught my limit and decided to get out of the zoo and left with a BIG BIG smile on our face! It is such a site just to watch the stripers boil and chase the menhaden! Jigging on light tackle is deffinatley a thrill! Total fish caught was 16, 2 nice keepers and a beautiful day! Fish were caught on
