well...where do I begin....ok.....had two guys from Carolina come up to fish with us today....It was Mike and Phil....G&H Lure crew.....they met us at the ramp at 0630.....I had one crew member who was late...(no name Steady 24 !).....but anywho...he got there and we hauled ass south...way south....wanted to get away from the crowds.....

Got down to corolla lighthouse and was having some wonderful Marks on the bottom....the bite hadn't turned on yet but we knew it was going to....

Well...Phil ( a active duty Navy Chief by the way) recently had eye surgery..and turns out that while eating hot wings he got some in his eye the night before...so now he's got Hot sauce in his recently operated on eye...probably not good..but being the tough navy Chief Petty officer that he is he decides to suck it up and go fishing.....well a couple hours into it we notice he's really not doing a whole lot with his gigantic goggles on and his beanie pulled over his eyes most of the day...turns out he's hurting pretty bad....He tells me he is fine and he will go to Portsmouth Naval hospital when we get done fishing....Now..when a Chief says he's going to the hospital after he's done fishing...that means I need to get his ass in right now cause he's in major pain....He didn't bitch the whole time nor did he ask to come in...Tough guy for sure !!!!...but I decided to take him in to Owls creek and let Mike take him to the hospital to get checked out.

Pulling into Rudee I'm probably throwing out a bit of a wake cause I want to get him in...nothing big but enough that the Marine Police call me over to VB Fishing center to "have a talk with me"..I explained I had an emergency onboard and I had to get Phil to Owls...He makes phil take off his Beanie and glasses and confirms that his EYE is about to frigging Explode...says OK...take him to Owls creek and I'll meet ya there..no problem...I'll see you there sir....

Drop Mike and Phil off to go to the Hostpital and wait for about 30 minutes and no officer....Radio is going off about fish so I can't wait any longer...pull out and get into the mix....boat a couple of striper and call it a day...........

Mike and Phil are great guys...just had bad luck today with his eye...Here's a shot of the little fishies we caugh today....Bob

That about sums it up Bob! But don't forget about the big hole in your boat! (that guy got you pretty good!) Just to let you know, Phil will actually keep his sight in the injured eye, and only has about a week worth of pain to go through.... Thanks for the trip today, your boat is AWESOME!!! I don't think I will ever be happy with mine again.....Bob, Otter and the "late guy" are a fun crew to fish with. Otter, I think you have found your calling.....Sandwich maker!!!!

Got to OC at 6:20 and was welcomed with a nice line to get into the water. Saw the Still Think'n at Malbon's on the way to the ramp (Nice Boat by the way). Got in the water and headed south and put in lines in off the Golf Ball. Fished there from 7:00-9:00 and picked up to run further south. Got to False Cape and were loosing signs of bait and birds and said f-it and did a 180 to head north. We were going to head up to CH and got up to Rudee and saw birds working everywhere. We were able to pull 4 fish in the 32"-39" class, 3 on Chartruse Mojo and 1 on Chartruse Umbrella rig. Bait and boats everywhere. It took some work, we did not pull out until 4:30 today. Good day on the water except for the boats who were not respecting other boaters quarters. We saw plenty of close calls. Sorry no pic's, my digital was with my wife today.

Another Great Trip with an Awesome crew!!! Thanks For being late Brian, that gave me time to watch the ramp antics. I need to video that stuff sometime, it will make it on one of those funny video shows. I'm glad yer eye is gonna be fine Phil and thanks for the stuff Mike.

If you need to go to Pnaval hospital your really hurtin. I have a few stories also.

Amazing how the Marine Patrol only catches the people who have emergencies, instead of those that create them. The MP have almost created their own for me by ramming my boat to check my safety equiptment, duh.

If you stomp hard on his big toe he won't think about the pain in his eye...an old Marine trick for my Navy friends. Glad it worked out Bob, great talkin with you yesterday!
Got Pete's Dad one nice striper and a long boat ride.

Great job Bob...not only on the fish but for getting Phil back!! That's another reason to have a fast boat.

I am just glad it was striper season......I know if we were running offshore I was getting left this time.

My penalty for the day was Otter telling me privately that Gusman's name was "Jim" (instead of his real name - Mike). So Jim......I mean Mike, sorry for calling you the wrong name all day. Otter was making me pay the price. smilie_kopf.gif

Phil, hope you're feeling better and thanks for sticking it out with us all morning.

P.S. Those G&H lures are great. I know I will be placing an order.

No prob Brian, I don't care what you call me....just don't call me late for fishing!!! HA!!! Actually, I didn't even notice... Lookin forward to this spring when we can team up and get offshore!! Catch some "real" fish!!!
