Head out of LI around 8, got to the Ramada and met up with the fleet. Dropped lines and trolled south to just off of Rudee, then out to the 3 mile line, and then back in and north to CH. Had a couple of knock-downs but nothing. Was running Mojo's, stretches, Tomics, and even tried some Yozuri's.

Stayed out of the mass of boats due to messing around with a new autopilot. Ended up heading back at 12 from CH. Needed to get home to help with the newest addition to the family.

It was great to get out even without catching fish.

Glad everyone else got some pullage!

The bad reports help us dial in on the fish as much as the good ones sometimes.

Lowfat,

I did about the same the first year I had my boat and started fishing in the bay. Luckily I found this site. Alot different fishing tactics than what I grew up using back home in MN.

Don't hesitate to ask questions. To a man/women they will help you out. vbsf_th.jpg

Happens to everybody. Check the Board before you head out if you can to get some ideas (sounds like you had a plan and did that), find out who else is going out and call them on the radio to hone you in on fish if they are doing any good. There were guys yesterday that didn't get fish even mixed in with the fleet. The fish start to hit and then the bite gets turned off by boat pressure I think. It will start up again later. Off and on. Good luck and have fun.
Tight lines.
