The first spot we pull up to I catch a small pup on the first cast. I thought it was gonna be a great day, but alas, that was the sole catch of the day. We fished hard and hit many areas.
We were in the cove for a while until two idiots in their formula racing boats came into the cove and squatted dead center with their motors rumbling. They had a bunch of people onboard and were making a ruckus. I don't know about ya'll, but when I fish, especially in the cove, I like peace and quiet - it helps me relax. Well, needless to say, I wasn't going to relax with that mess going on.
I forgot to add that we anchored up close enough to shore that my casts were hitting water about 20 feet from shore. I always fish away from the shore guys that are already there, but it's first come, first served. There were no shore anglers anywhere close. We were there about 30 minutes or so when this knucklehead comes around and sets up right where I'm casting. He plainly saw where I was casting and still set his lines there!
Well, all that made me decide to pull anchor (right at the prime time for the tide) and try some other spots. Zero, zip, zilch, nada. I thought I saw Jeff out there in his Mako. Was that you, Jeff? Do any good?
