going to try to get to the light tower today and if not tomorrow hopefully. Any suggestions on what might be out there right now. Looking to fill the cooler for the out of town guests I have. It would take a lot of flounder to fill this cooler. Taugs are an option. We've been killing them. HOw about sea bass is there a lot of sea bass right there at the tower. What about tilefish. Never fished for them. Probably gotta be pretty deep. If you got any info post it.
Thanks

Tiles are going to be out much deeper. Not sure about what else is around the tower now...my brains been in Hatteras! Check Julie Ball's inshore report on the home page...she might have some info there.
Good Luck!!

I read a report on this board last week about someone getting covered up by bluefish in the 10 to 16 lb range at the Light Tower. Sea bass are typically out deeper until the water warms up a little more. Tilefish don't migrate inshore so you'll find them in 200 ft plus water with the 50 fathom curve as the best shot. Togs are a possibility. Good luck and tight lines.

Got to the tower today around 10 am. trolled around for blue fish for a while hoping to pick some up. We ended up trying to catch some flounder since we did so good the day before at the third island. ended up catching dog sharks all day. One was almost 5 feet. One right after another so we pulled lines and hit some wrecks. No luck just more sharks. WE headed back to the third and guess what. More sharks. It's flounder and Taugs the rest of the week for me unless we here of a bite at the Hot Dog. Can't make it to Hatteras as bad as we want to. Anyway there it is.
