It seems like I fish here more than on the water in the last year.I am going to take my 6 year old out this week.I don`t care if they are small.I jut want him to get some pullage..I was thinking about the Hampton bar.Any suggestions?I can go out of Lynnhaven, Hampton or Portsmouth.

Caught some nice 15-17" croaker at the Jrb this afternoon , with a couple of nice cats mixed in. I had my 5 year old nephew with me and on a couple of the bigger ones he kept trying to give me the pole back ! Lol Shrimp was the bait of choice. Around sunset when we left we got caught by the bridge going up and the guys on the end of the pier were slaying the croaker.Good luck to you and the lil one.

Thanks for sharing your JRB action Danny.
we went up the james alittle and cought about 10 keeper cats that are skined and in the fridge along with 2 croaker we kept also. its nothing to post a pic about but its astart for us. I think we will run out to the HRBT and try to drift for flounder.
If our skills don't let us catch any will probley run back for some croaker.
I know to some fishermen on here thats sad, but give us sometime our skills will get better. costumed-smiley-089.gif

Went to the York and caught a cooler full of Croaker with the Kids on Saturday. One being 17 inches, and several 15 In and below. Kids had a blast! My daughter still talkin' trash, as she caught the 17in. action-smiley-025.gif thats ok though, I taught her everyting she knows! costumed-smiley-089.gif Jdog, sorry I didn't make it to the HRBT, But I only have a 16ft jon, and didn't want to take any chances with the youngun's on board. i had heard they were callin' for 2-3 footers around there, so we went to the York instead. Hope all had a good weekend on the water!

yllowfin , same on sunday at the Jrb. Plenty of nice croaker and cats and even got them at slack tide , just a lil slower bite. Good luck and get pictures of the lil one because thats one thing I didn't do except for a couple when we got home at dark last night.Good luck.
