Hey Don, No afraid not. We had problems with the starboard outboard at the dock. Turned out being fuel pump. Should be ready today. Fishing saturday or sunday. Can't wait to put out the new bait. Glad the motor problem happened at the dock. hard_smiley.gif

Maybe shouldn't post this in this topic. But I read on TROPHY HUNTER website that the O.I. fleet couldn't get across the bar at O.I. So they went all the way to Hatteras on saturday to get out, except 1 boat. Wonder if anyone noticed the increase in boat traffic?
Ktrain
I spoke to someone down at OI and they said on Saturday there were 14ft to 16footers in the inlet at the bar and that is the reason most of the fleet went down the sound to Hatteras. They said 3 of the fleet boats said the hell with it and went through the rough stuff and there boats got completely covered up by waves!! Crazy

Man, now that does not sound good at all. To tell you the truth, I don't like going through OI even on a good day.
In any event, Water Dog is fishing Sunday out of Hattteras we'll be on channel 1. If you call us please don't ask for Randy or you will never get off the radio.
He loves to talk-doesn't really have anything to say of substance- he just loves to talk. action-smiley-025.gif action-smiley-025.gif action-smiley-025.gif

My buddy went out of OI last Sunday and encountered 12-14 Ft waves going out sport-smiley-027.gif He also got hung up on the sandbar comming in for over an hour and luckly got off of it. Is hatteras inlet easier to go out from? OI makes me real nervous going out of it. Any info on this from the experienced guys would be greatly appriciated! food-smiley-015.gif

I hear ya brother but it also says SW15-20 and if that's true its going to be more like 4 to 7 on the Rockpile. Gulf stream is sometimes mean baby although SW is certainly better than North

Saturday will be ok if you leave later in the day....early morning through midmorning is gonna be rough rough....high winds Friday night into saturday gonna make for some bumpy conditions but it's gonna lay down later in the day...Sunday is gonna be prime time.....just my observations.....Bob

Danny Hatteras inlet can get real nasty but you can judge it alot better than OI,If there is a strong outgoing tide at Hatteras be careful let a big boat go thru in front of you and just observe and use common sense you will be fine, Hatteras is also marked very well. Conch

I totally agree with this analysis.
We fished 3 weeks ago down on the Rock Pile on 15-20, after a blow the day before and I can assure you I spent a LOT of time trolling down sea. It was fishable on Water Dog, but I could not physically stay in the tower until after lunch, when it laid down some and even then it was rock'n and roll'n.
Battling that stuff really works out to a half day's fishing, 'cause it is really hard to focus on what you doing when you are trying to stand up. That's why I opting for Sunday, not to mention seeing what happened with the guys who did fish Sat.
Just my thoiughts

Team Still Thinkin... I will be down fishing Sunday at OI.What channel will you be on. It's been nasty at OI. Calling for 2-4 Sunday hopefully that will help the inlet.
