Hello all,

First of all I am rather new to this group, so I hope I am in the right spot. I will be going down to the bay on Saturday for a few hours of fishing before my son's baseball game in the afternoon. Anyway, I dont have time to get out on the water, so I was going to do some shore fishing on the east side of the Lesner Bridge. Anyone have an idea as to what is biting there, what types of bait/lures are working/not working? Any help is appreciated.

On another note, just wanted to mention that two weeks ago I went out on the Miss Marissa to the Tower to Tog fish the wrecks. It was cold, and a little rainy. About two hours into fishing, I was not catching a darn thing. The whole boat may have pulled in a half dozen togs at this point. So I switched up my bait to a little buffet of Squid/Blue Fish with a Gulp Pumpkinseed Mullet trailing. With the first cast of this combo, I pulled in a barely legal Black Bass. So I was getting pumped up watching all the other fools using crabs to no avail. Um....yeah.....went dead again for about 45 min. Then I got a really hard tug and fought to beat hell to bring in the next fish. It was a nice fight. Once it got close in I realized it was about a 3 1/2 foot Dog Shark. Got that off the line and rebaited, cast back out, within 5 min got another huge tug. This time it was a Spiny Dog Shark about the same size as the first. Unhook, rebait, drop line, immediate tug. This time a little bit smaller Dog. Anyway, while I was hoping to Tog fish, I was happy to have my line dancing and pulling in something from the water. Anyway, turned out to be a fun trip regardless. Next time, I am on the Marissa, I want to go over the CBBT though. Didn't like the 1.5 hour treck out to the tower.

Ok that should be enough for now. Oh if you all need freshwater reports from Richmond, I can tell you that this weekend, and so far this week..........NADA. Oh well, still fun to cast and reel.

Have a great week guys/girls.

I wasn't striper fishing, was supposed to be tog fishing but that didn't work too well.
So changed up to Dog Shark's. smile.gif This was a couple of weekends ago. Um.....oh yeah it was April 14th. I am just behind the times.

Thanks for the welcome. I have enjoyed reading the posts and will be submitting my supporter request soon. Anyway, do you know what the trout and puppy drum are biting on?

I have been having luck with the chartreuse gulp swimming mullet on a outgoing tide. Gold or Silver gotchas have done good on the blues. Tight Lines....

Thom-

Thanks for getting back to me. I also live in Richmond and went down to the 14th Street bridge and caught some catch and releasae stripers last night. I wasn't sure if that was the area of the Jmaes that you were talking about.
