I just recently travelled here from down in Charleston and used the maps Unique offshore fishing maps.
I looked to see if they have any for Virgina and NC, but far as they go is to Moorehead, NC. I really like them because it lists all of the well-known offshore trolling areas using the most popular names and had a large list of bottom fishing sites listed also.
Are there any maps like this available for the Va/NC coast? If so, what is the name and where can I get them. I'd like to get out there this Sunday, but definitely need some maps first!
Also, during this time of year, what areas usually produce the best quality fish?
Your help is appreciated.

Most any tackle shop will have offshore charts, like the Capt Sea gull charts.

I think what you want is a Captain Seagull's sportfishing chart -"Offshore -Cape May NJ to Cape Hatteras NC"
VERY IMPORTANT -make sure is has a Loran C grid line overlay on it, in addition to Lat/LONG coordinates. When discussing catch reports, we still use 30 year old technolgy (Loran C coordinates) to describe catch locations, so if you don't have the grid on the chart you won't have a clue as to what people are talking about.
If you get that chart and understand it ,you will be conversant on every location under discussion here on the board. In fact, buy 2 of them, one for your boat and for your home for planning purposes.
