Gotcha Plug !!
Found out the hard way Sunday. Took 2 boys to HRBT area for 1st trip of the season when one of them asked why one gas tank has more than the other?
Quick glance at the gauges shows port tank w/ 1/4 less fuel . Look in the bilge at water separator , large leak from filter dumping liquid gold into the bildge yikes.gif
OK, don't panic , job one stop fuel flow , crimp pliers and ty wrap attached to hose , fuel stopped. Remove filter and replace with new , NOT . Rubber strap filter wrench would not budge it. ( Stop , pull out Seatow card, yep paid for the year)
Ok try bypass filter and put 2 hoses together with ???????? Look around the boat for something to join hoses , One of the boys asked can he throw this lure for blues ( we had caught a couple earlier ) , biggrin.gif , No son I need that for something else. Cut hooks , head off , perfect tube to join hoses. Dumped water in bilge to dilute the bomb.
Ran from oceanview area to P-Town city park , got on trailer and back home safe and sound. Drained bilge into barrel for disposal.
Ended the day w/ 3 keeper flounder ( 22,20, 19) , 35 croaker, 5 blues, 20 throwback trout and 2 smiling boys .

What a day, I need a cold one ! food-smiley-004.gif

Thats one to remember?!

I read a post on THT where a guy did a similar fix but with the shaft of a fishing rod. The Gotcha plug fix beats that by about $100. Glad everything worked out~

Great job on the repair. Even makes it better when you still come home with fish.
