Hi, Im a Six pack captain in Wenona Maryland and fish mostly in the Tangier sound. We are catching alot of Croakers but they are not as big as they should be.We usualy catch Croakers in the 13-18 inch class most of the year, but this year so far the bulk of them are in the 9-12 inch class. Are any of you guys in the souhern bay catching nice sized Croakers yet with your charters. We are catching some nice ones but not as many as we are used to.This time of year we shold be seeing all six guys catch 50-75 big Croakers per man.As far as other fishing goes,We had a super trophy Rock season with alot of 42-50ish inch fish caught,Black Drum are showing up nice and and a few Spot and Trout are showing up.Im also sure Flounder are here too,I just havnt tried yet.

Croaker seem to be on a 10 year cycle you cant really go from year to year.I know the Commercial guys docked next to me this winter were hammering them bringing back 12,ooolbs per day for about most of March and early april. The Croaker seem to be up to par around our neck of the woods.

I did the bottom bumping thing yesterday in the york and was dissapointed with the size. We threw back five or more for every one we kept and hardly a few of them were over a pound.

Although I wasn't targeting croaker last weekend, I did catch several on a bucktail tipped with artificial bait that were all over 14".

Marrdro, would you mind sharing where you were? We got into a school of blues on ultralight tackle a week and a half ago drifting from the small boat channel at CBBT to right about in front of the lesner, mostly small but what a fun day, a little blued out though ready to get back to the bridges and get some grillin action for this weekend.
Thanks
