Fished the bridge friday afternoon and sat. afternoon and managed a couple keeper striper up to 26". Green 3/4 oz. & 1 oz. chesapeake bay lures worked good as well as a 1oz. smoke colored storm. I have to say though I caught my 2 nicer ones on small croaker dropped along the pilon on the incoming tide. Yesterday the man came up to me and asked me what I caught and I said about 20 nice croaker and 2 stripers and he said let me see the stripers so I pulled them out of the cooler and held them up and he said nice ones and told me to have a good day and took off.I caught 11 friday and 5 yesterday. I kept 2 friday and 3 sat. ( had a buddy with me sat.) the one friday was a no show.Saw 3 dead stripers float by in the 2 days I was out there ?? Took today off but will venture out tomorrow.

Hi...where did you catch the stripers in the Elizabeth River? I caught a bunch of nice sized croaker off lambert's point on Sunday....too rough for my small boat in the choppy James / MMBT. Thanks!!!

Great report guys. action-smiley-033.gif

Schoolies were hitting at the HRBT Monday evening as well. Caught 10 brought back one for dinner. Seemed to like Crab on a bottom rig or white bucktail with a chartruese tail.

Thanks , martini4me just fish any of the bridges from the berkley to the gilmerton. Small croaker are great bait but get a quick hook set or they will get gut hooked and if that does happen I keep it towards my limit. When I get my limit I stop using live bait and if I am c&r then I go back to artifical. Hope that helps. How big were the croaker ?
