I need a little help from some of you guys fishing offshore. I'm looking into buying a 26 Regulator center console and wondering if anybody has any suggestions on a good marine lender in the VA area. Thanks.

I don't see any advantage to limiting yourself to a local lender. To me, it's all about the terms. I financed my boat in Feb 06 and at the time, Russo Financial had very good terms. I would get quotes from as many as you could, then go with the best deal. Some places to start are here.

I have mine through Bank of The West in CA. Offered lowest interest rate of all that I contacted.

Boat loans are highly sought after by lender's - esp. for borrower's with strong credit history. Regulator is also good collateral, as it is a quality machine with high value possibly making the deal stronger yet. Don't rush to one lender. Research (ie internet - Google "boat loans") is in order here, for best terms. I financed an airplane this way --lots of quotes.

Bank of the Commonwealth is a local bank that also happens to be a major sponsor of the upcoming VBSF Bluewater Classic Offshore/Inshore Tournament. Why not give them a call.

A friend of mine that owns a boat dealership uses Bank of the West as well. I'm assuming he uses them because they give the best terms.
