Last minute call decided to take the day off and help Jake(captain of the matador) bring his boat back to VB from PC. It was a good decision. Left Shallowbay at 2:00 looking for a sword and an early eyeball. Jake was setting one of the squids when something tags it and he sets the hook with his hand. Fish on and in quick order we have something on the surface. I see a bill swatting around but hard to be certain. Finally it comes to the leader and its a 60" sword. I throw the gaff in him and skunk out with the first sword I have ever seen. Real cool. Start up our tuna troll and by 10.30 we have 10 tuna to 60lbs, the sword, 20#mahi, and a 25# Wahoo to round out a sword slam? Decided box was full and we had a long way to go so that was that. So I thought. Jake took us by two towers(G and ???) where we caught and released 10+ 30-40# amberjack. I am spent and my arms hurt. Tuna were caught between the 650-680 in 70-200 fathoms. Hit everything.

Very nice indeed. Must be tough to bring Jake's boat back home with the tunas still snapping down there.
