Fished today and caught 2 Bluefins at Wayne's World. We got hit by 4 bites at one time and only two came tight. The fish were 44 and 46inches. We kept the 46 incher and just to note in relation to size limits and weights of fish - the 46incher weighed 56lbs. We caught the fish on standard sea witch rigs and water temp was 70.6 - We also had a gaffer dolphin and got covered up by bluefish once a little west of WW = 26900,41400.

Its late and I'm tired but hope this helps someone find them this week.

I thought the conditions were getting good. Glad to see you ventured out and were successful. It should continue to improve. I think we are going to try this week. Thanks for the report. Mark

How far is it to Wayne's World from Rudee? I only have 150 gallons in my Grady and I'm wondering if it will even be realistic for me to ever go offshore from Rudee. Fished the 680 to 710 out of OI friday and burned 70 gallons. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Probably 53 miles or so. I would say it is in range, if you don't have a bad sea state and you don't get bogged down in a 4 to 5 foot chop coming home, which is a common occurance.
This advice I saw on another post about getting a fuel flow meter is right on, for you guys with a limited fuel situation. I would say if you are going to try to fish offshore, you really ought to invest in the meter.
I fished 14 years in a Grady with two hundred gallons and I was just dumb lucky I didn't get in trouble. Many times I had 5 to 10 gallons left when I got home and I was sweating bullets. A little bit of wind puffing up to 20 knots out of the west, will double your fuel consumption on the way home in a heart beat and get you dry at the light tower if you are not careful. Now you don't guess on this, this metering technolgly is quite good and inexpensive. Excellent safty feature.

waynes world is between the fingers and Norfolk Canyon. What about 50 miles.

150 gallons should be OK, I assume you have about a 24ft boat and you get about 2 Gallons per mile.

Good info on the Fingers. Motivates me to get my boat ready.
