Went out of OI yesterday in my 22' Angler. Going out of the inlet, about every 3rd set was cresting. It was a little interesting and I thought it was as rough as I care to navigate. Went to the Point and caught two gaffer dolphin, it was choppy and windy in the Gulf Stream( water 79-80F) and we didn't have much luck. Made our way in and the ocean was slick and beautiful. Trolled for Kings from 16 miles out to 6 miles out and didn't catch any. Saw a few Hammerheads cruising looking for Cobia. Came in at 3:30 and the inlet was the nastiest I have seen it. White across the board. I guess some of the waves were 8-10' and breaking. After launcing off the first set, we surfed a big one in most of the way. That NE swell was nice! I don't think I want to go out of OI again after a week long NE blow. The boat handled the conditions well...it is nice to know that the boat will handle rougher conditions than I want to!
