Ran out today for an afternoon fish. Not much happening at the HRBT so made a quick run to the Thimble Light. Plenty of dink spades and quite a few 20 some odd inch rock out there biting clam in the slick as well. Anyone know if the bigger spades come into the bay?

The CBBT holds spades, but for some reason I have not been on them this year or last at the CBBT. 2 years ago we slayed them every time.

Went to the cbbt sunday after spades.Somebody was where i wanted to fish.So we set up at the next pilings over.Watched them limit out.We had no luck.Going in the am. What size were the spades at TSL.

At best the largest was 2 and a half lbs. Im guessing larger spades may be hit and miss there... The TSL is maybe a 20 min. run from the house so we will be hitting it alot more often.

We catch nice spades at the 3rd and 4th Islands this time of year. They get smaller as the season goes on. We find bigger spades around the pilings in July and August and give up on the islands when that happens.

I was on the oceanside of the 4th yesterday and we caught 5 nice spades, a dozen triggerfish (1 paper), and some of the smallest sea bass i have ever seen. nice day on the water.
