Company sponsored trip with two boats out of Teach's Lair on Friday. Last day of a steady Nor'easter that blew for three days. Rough going out with forecast to lay down by mid morning. We started trolling the weedline at 7:am, by 7:30am we had seven nice gaffers in the box and the mayhem continued through the day. Several gaffers were easily pushing the 35 to 40 pound range at 4' in length with bull crowns that were 12" tall. The boat I was on stayed along the weedline content on filling the box with beautiful Mahi Mahi's. The other boat went off to fish another spot and started deep jigging and got into some porker yellow fin's and fat amberjacks. All in all when we took the fish to the scales/ cleaning station....results: We had 468 pounds of dolphin on the dock and boat number two had 688 lbs of dolphin, YFT, and Amberjacks. Last time I checked my math skills....that's over a 1/2 ton of prime table fare stuff. It was a dream day of fishing. Guess what my fellow VBSF's....I'm going right back out there this Saturday for another day of abuse and elbow bending. The lead boat was "The Big Tahuna" captained by Scott Warren. If ever you want to go out with a great captain, call "The Big Tahuna". (252) 986-4077
I'm already so stoked about this coming Saturday, I'm having trouble getting to sleep at night and it's only Tuesday........isn 't it great being a nine year old?
